So...this weekend was a pretty good weekend. I did get slammed with a lot of homework, but I was able to get a lot of it done and still have a whole lot of fun with the fam and attend a delightful evening Denny concert on the Union Terrace. The best part about it was the rare and unique attendance of the former Madisonians turned Pittsburghians, that's right Ben and Lisa. It turns out, Ben in all his computer ingenuity wrote a program to temporally transform he and Lisa into paper so that they could mail themselves to Madison for the show and family outing, and save on air fair. I'll give a brief synopsis of Flat Ben and Flat Lisa's time with us that evening.

We began the night with dinner at a Mexican restaurant of which I can't remember the name...Flat Ben and Lisa shared a plate.

Lisa chilled with her sisters in law while we waited to be seated.

Both of them got some good quality time with Tim and Lisa also.

They also kicked it with Dan and the Epikos kids...

After dinner, Ben and Lisa enjoyed listening to their pal Denny play some songs at the union, and then spent some time catching up with him afterward...

Overall, it was a good night. They went right back to Pittsburgh the next day via priority mail.

Looking forward to seeing you guys again soon.

Maybe I should just call up some friends, play some music, and be myself...

Dude, I just got 5 extra credit points on a World of Ideas exam for reciting all the books of the Old Testament to my instuctor at the end. That is so awesome. I never thought that skill I learned when I was nine in Sunday School would ever help me in the academic world. I didn't think I'd be able to remember them all either. I practiced them on the way to class that morning, and then when I recited it to him I did the think that Akeelah does on Akeelah and the Bee, patting my leg in rhythm with the book names as I said them aloud. Thanks, Akeelah! Man that was a good movie, almost got me all teary-eyed.

I guess Rosie Thomas knew it was my birthday on Tuesday and decided release her new cd with my other two favorite singer/songwriters the same day. Wow thanks, Rosie. That was nice.
